My Thoughts on The Tea Party

A friend of mine posted this on my facebook wall:

I was wondering what you thought of all this tea party business. I really don’t know much about it, I’ll admit. I respect your opinion though, so I’d appreciate your thoughts on it

Then the same friend commented:

After looking at your pictures again, I think I just answered my own question. I should have known you’d be right in the middle of it carrying the banner.

This was my response:

If only I had a horse!

In short it’s about the fools that think because we work and go to our kids soccer games that they can do whatever they want and the fact is they were hired to do the right things for all the people. Instead they are busy spending money like crazy… seriously who would hire anyone in our government to be their personal accountant? We’d be sittin’ there like Nicolas Cage!

And instead of honest debate they want to call the people of the Tea Party names…. distracting from the true issues and they are hoping we’ll back down because nobody wants to be labeled crazy, teabagger, or racist. Last time I looked the U.S. debt didn’t have anything to do with mental illness, sucking balls or the color of a persons skin.

This isn’t a football game where it’s the donkeys vs. the elephants. This is we the people vs. the government. This weekend we’ll stuff our faces and watch fireworks but we should remember that BRAVE men and women put their lives on the line so that we would be free from a king. They had this awesome idea that we are the rulers and our elected officials are the servants and sadly that is becoming less of a reality and more of a chapter in a history book.

When someone like Joe the Plumber asks a question and gets an honest answer and our media attack him… that’s not my country!!! When the media protects the government instead of fairly informing the people… that’s not my country!!! When our sitting president stands up and mocks the citizens because they don’t agree with him… that’s not my country!!! When congress passes bills that the majority is against… that’s not my country!!! When a president would rather defend people here illegally than protect the interests of the country’s citizens… that’s not my country!!!

So let them call me a redneck for the things I believe and I’ll stand up proud and say, “Thank you!”

When the government fears the people, there is liberty. When the people fear the government, there is tyranny. Thomas Jefferson

The Winds of Change are Blowing

During the 2008 campaign, McCain had not shown a clear contrast between his policies and those of Obama’s.  The only clear difference  most could see was a really cool guy and an old “get off my lawn” man.

In the days leading up to the election day, all across the country the wind was literally blowing.   I remember talking about it with friends and one of them chimed in and said, “It’s the winds of change and the people in this country are about to elect Barack Obama.”

Today though watching the video of Sarah Palin rallying in Searchlight, NV the winds were really whipping around and my first thought was those are the winds of change. The silent majority has become loud. And sure enough Obama is bringing about change but not entirely the kind he expected.

Rebuke Repeal Reject

Sorry I’m late to post this…

I heart Sarah Palin, the next President of The United States of America.

I’m not buying it!

Yahoo has a story on their homepage, Tea party protesters use racial epithet against Georgia’s John Lewis.  I’m not saying it’s not possible but I’ve been to plenty of Tea Parties and have never heard anyone say anything of this nature. I don’t know if it’s a bad apple or maybe a “coffee party” member?

That said… it’s amazing to me that the “news” people in our country never would report on the fact that hundreds of thousands of people showed up in our nation’s capitol in Sept. 09 and had a peaceful protest and left the place clean.  I’m just floored that the media is the one that is suppose to be on the people’s side not the government’s side.  Yet time and time again they get it all wrong.  Hey media people do you think the masses are so stupid that they will believe your twisted views?  Your credibility is in the tank.

Furthermore I’m just twisted in general!

I’m the type of person that thinks for myself.  I watch all kinds of news, listen to both sides of talk radio.  In the end though I can have my own thoughts and do my own thing… if I just went with what others said I wouldn’t still be blogging here!  I’ve had so much hate email but in the end,  I like Sarah Palin.  I like most of what she stands for so I’m willing to stand up and say it even if it doesn’t make me popular with everyone.

And there’s more…

I don’t believe that we should rely on government for much more than national defense, roads and sewers.  Those within our government that want us to be more dependent on them, know that when they can step in and coddle the people, there is a breakdown in community/family thus giving the govt. more power over our lives.  The whole divide and conquer trick!

And I’m not done ranting yet…

Is there anything that government does not have an open hand out waiting for more money!  Oh wait… we don’t have to pay taxes on food, well not at the checkout but all along the way it gets taxed.  Democrats act as if they are going to stick it to the rich, they are the poor man’s champion.  Bottom-line is we are all paying and when they stick it to the man in the ivory tower guess who pays?  We do!  It’s all about the cost of doing business.  It’s common sense and if people can’t get that then our education system is failing… that starts on another subject though and I’m already spinning.  So, I will leave you with this video.  Beware, it’s full of common sense!
