Today We Learn a New Lesson

Conflicted. That one word describes how I was feeling last night as I watched McCain’s concession speech. Deeply saddened by the loss, I also felt joy at being able to say that the first African-American elected president happened in my life time.
America has come a long way in the last 100 years. One hundred years ago only men were allowed to vote and even those men had to meet certain requirements. And yet yesterday, our country voted for the first African American president. How amazing is that?
I am also saddened by the hateful comments from McCain voters along with the “in your face” type behavior from the Obama camp. Today is a new day and no matter who you voted for it’s time to stop labeling yourself a Republican or a Democrat. We are all Americans and we must come together as one. Quit telling me that “the end times are near” because they are no closer then when everyone was freaking out over Y2K. And quit acting all superior because your candidate won. Guess what? He still has to prove himself. I will give him credit for creating such a wonderful voter turnout.
Now onto the issues. I believe that this election is a wake up call. Most of us have no idea what issues are being voted on in Washington until it’s too late to do anything about it. We also only pick out the parts of legislation that we want or don’t want and make decisions based on those facts. Seeing as how most of us don’t agree with Obama’s policies and ideas, we need to stand guard, pay attention, and quit resting on our butts.
When Obama takes office in January we must be diligent and look at the big picture of every bill he wants to pass. Don’t just look at the here and now. Look at our future and our past. Those who don’t learn from history are destined to repeat themselves. So don’t get mad, get active. Remember that you have a voice.
I am proud of having supported the McCain campaign. I believe that this election has taught us a lot about getting the word out there and pounding the pavement. Perhaps the next election will see more of us taking a more active roll in telling people about our candidate and what they stand for.
The next four years are going to be an eye opening experience. We must persevere and take each day with the grace in which McCain gave his concession speech. Do not get into arguments and do not call Obama the anti-Christ. Just claim to be the American you are and move on.
As for our moms for Sarah Palin site, hmmmmm, maybe we should leave it up til 2012?
Newt Gingrich tells it like it is! A must see!
You may see on our blog the CNN interview that they are talking about watch part two.
Sarah Palin Inciting Violence?
Some of you are whining and complaining about Sarah Palin’s comments and how the crowd is yelling “kill him” and other stuff. Let’s talk about those on the left. They’re talking just as much crap if not more. Check this out: violence against McCain and Palin
Let’s not forget to mention this lovely scene.
Or the full length of the march:
So much for tolerating the other people’s point of view.
Just the Facts-Troopergate
For those of you so up in arms about Tiffany’s post, here’s the link to the official 300-page report about Troopergate.
On page 65 is where you find what Sarah Palin is guilty of. Which is:
The evidence supports the conclusion that Governor Palin at least engaged in “official action” by her inaction if not her active participation or assistance to her husband to get trooper Wooten fired. She knowingly… permitted Todd Palin to use the Governors office and the resources of the Governors office, including access to state employees, to continue to contact subordinate state employees in an effort to find some way to get Trooper Wooten fired.
So basically, Palin is guilty of not telling her husband, Todd, to back off and drop the whole issue. Hmmmm, if your averge person had made a stink like Todd did some people would applaud him. Guess being “famous” gets you a different set of rules.
P.S. Those of you that have differing opinions feel free to comment, but if you’re just going to say how stupid we/republicans are then maybe you shouldn’t comment and show how unintelligent you are.
