I was wondering what you thought of all this tea party business. I really don’t know much about it, I’ll admit. I respect your opinion though, so I’d appreciate your thoughts on it

Then the same friend commented:

After looking at your pictures again, I think I just answered my own question. I should have known you’d be right in the middle of it carrying the banner.

This was my response:

If only I had a horse!

In short it’s about the fools that think because we work and go to our kids soccer games that they can do whatever they want and the fact is they were hired to do the right things for all the people. Instead they are busy spending money like crazy… seriously who would hire anyone in our government to be their personal accountant? We’d be sittin’ there like Nicolas Cage!

And instead of honest debate they want to call the people of the Tea Party names…. distracting from the true issues and they are hoping we’ll back down because nobody wants to be labeled crazy, teabagger, or racist. Last time I looked the U.S. debt didn’t have anything to do with mental illness, sucking balls or the color of a persons skin.

This isn’t a football game where it’s the donkeys vs. the elephants. This is we the people vs. the government. This weekend we’ll stuff our faces and watch fireworks but we should remember that BRAVE men and women put their lives on the line so that we would be free from a king. They had this awesome idea that we are the rulers and our elected officials are the servants and sadly that is becoming less of a reality and more of a chapter in a history book.

When someone like Joe the Plumber asks a question and gets an honest answer and our media attack him… that’s not my country!!! When the media protects the government instead of fairly informing the people… that’s not my country!!! When our sitting president stands up and mocks the citizens because they don’t agree with him… that’s not my country!!! When congress passes bills that the majority is against… that’s not my country!!! When a president would rather defend people here illegally than protect the interests of the country’s citizens… that’s not my country!!!

So let them call me a redneck for the things I believe and I’ll stand up proud and say, “Thank you!”

When the government fears the people, there is liberty. When the people fear the government, there is tyranny. Thomas Jefferson

Have a safe and Happy 4th July!

Yahoo has a story on their homepage, Tea party protesters use racial epithet against Georgia’s John Lewis. I’m not saying it’s not possible but I’ve been to plenty of Tea Parties and have never heard anyone say anything of this nature. I don’t know if it’s a bad apple or maybe a “coffee party” member?

That said… it’s amazing to me that the “news” people in our country never would report on the fact that hundreds of thousands of people showed up in our nation’s capitol in Sept. 09 and had a peaceful protest and left the place clean. I’m just floored that the media is the one that is suppose to be on the people’s side not the government’s side. Yet time and time again they get it all wrong. Hey media people do you think the masses are so stupid that they will believe your twisted views? Your credibility is in the tank.

Furthermore I’m just twisted in general!

I’m the type of person that thinks for myself. I watch all kinds of news, listen to both sides of talk radio. In the end though I can have my own thoughts and do my own thing… if I just went with what others said I wouldn’t still be blogging here! I’ve had so much hate email but in the end, I like Sarah Palin. I like most of what she stands for so I’m willing to stand up and say it even if it doesn’t make me popular with everyone.

And there’s more…

I don’t believe that we should rely on government for much more than national defense, roads and sewers. Those within our government that want us to be more dependent on them, know that when they can step in and coddle the people, there is a breakdown in community/family thus giving the govt. more power over our lives. The whole divide and conquer trick!

And I’m not done ranting yet…

Is there anything that government does not have an open hand out waiting for more money! Oh wait… we don’t have to pay taxes on food, well not at the checkout but all along the way it gets taxed. Democrats act as if they are going to stick it to the rich, they are the poor man’s champion. Bottom-line is we are all paying and when they stick it to the man in the ivory tower guess who pays? We do! It’s all about the cost of doing business. It’s common sense and if people can’t get that then our education system is failing… that starts on another subject though and I’m already spinning. So, I will leave you with this video. Beware, it’s full of common sense!

From Sarah Palin’s facebook:

The choice of photo for the cover of this week’s Newsweek is unfortunate. When it comes to Sarah Palin, this “news” magazine has relished focusing on the irrelevant rather than the relevant. The Runner’s World magazine one-page profile for which this photo was taken was all about health and fitness – a subject to which I am devoted and which is critically important to this nation. The out-of-context Newsweek approach is sexist and oh-so-expected by now. If anyone can learn anything from it: it shows why you shouldn’t judge a book by its cover, gender, or color of skin. The media will do anything to draw attention – even if out of context.

- Sarah Palin

The cover of Newsweek asks “How do you solve a problem like Sarah?” Which only makes me think of the nuns singing in the Sound of Music, How do you solve a problem like Maria? The nuns couldn’t control Maria’s free spirit therefore they didn’t know what to do with her because she wouldn’t conform and she was different from the rest of them. In the end though Maria becomes the heroin. Maria is kind and wise, she stands up to the Captain for what is right. She is exactly what the von Trapp kids need. In the end of the movie Maria helps to save the family from the Nazis.

What’s even more ironic about it is the movie is all about making tough choices, having faith in God, and doing the right thing even if it is a bit uncomfortable.

There is a self avowed communist advising the president of the United States and they insult Beck exposing that fact and call it a smear campaign against Jones and deliver very little coverage on the subject. More people knew about Sarah Palin’s clothing that the RNC bought than know about who Van Jones is and what he stands for. This is so pathetic it’s sickening.

Today Glenn Beck broke a huge story about ACORN. I was able to find one story on Yahoo about it and that was after searching. (The ACORN story from Beck is below) If you are outraged I urge you to write to ABC News, CBS, and CNN then if you have drafted a good letter start writing your local news affiliates.

Sarah Palin spoke about the media saying they have what “could and should be a respected profession” It’s time that we hold the media accountable.

In the meantime I’d like to leave you with an observation…

I was at Yahoo and decided to search their news for Sarah Palin. The majority of the stories on Sarah Palin are from the Huffington Post. They even have a story about all the different corsages she’s worn. They love to talk about her.

I think it’s because they can’t talk about what a complete idiot their Obama is so, in an attempt to distract their rank and file they try to demean Sarah.

Leave me some comments on why you think the left just can’t stop talking about Palin even after they swear up and down they are sick or her and never want to her from her again.

Do you believe that a mainstream news outlet should be serving as an unofficial mouthpiece of the Administration?

Do you believe that a mainstream news outlet should provide free airtime to present the Adminstration’s side of an issue, while rejecting even paid advertising presenting an alternate view?

A coalition of Tea Party and 9-12 groups in North Texas is joining together in a protest of ABC’s decision to devote a full hour of free prime-time programming on June 24th to a presentation on the Administration’s new socialized medicine plan.

Despite its claims to be an objective conduit for news and information, ABC News has rejected requests for airtime made by advocates of alternate health care reform plans, even to those who offered to purchase airtime to present their side.

If you agree that this sort of behavior is completely inappropriate for a supposedly “objective” news organization, you are encouraged to join the protest and make your voice heard:
