I have been reading several articles about Sarah Palin’s book signing at Legacy Books in Plano, Texas which is a suburb just north of Dallas. This article titled Sarah Palin’s ‘Going Rogue’ Book Tour Rolls into Texas, Delighting Her Conservative Supporters states:

Plano was an obvious stop on Sarah Palin’s Going Rogue Book Tour because it is a Republican stronghold. According to USA Today, the majority of voters in this ritzy suburb north of Dallas voted for the conservative pairing of John McCain and Sarah Palin in the 2008 presidential election; the majority of voters in the city of Dallas itself voted for Barack Obama.

I feel the author of the article is being a bit catty in both her title and her mention of Plano being ritzy. I would like to point out though that this is another one of those, Can you see the light? moments. Plano for the most part is a very prosperous city (mostly Republican) and Dallas is filled with poverty and corruption (mostly Democrat). I wonder if there might be a connection there?
