HarperCollins announced that Sarah Palin is working on a new book and after selling over 2 million copies of Going Rogue; can you blame them for teaming with her to do another book?

While the book doesn’t yet have a title the subject according to the publisher will be “celebration of American virtues and strengths.” They added that “She will also draw from her personal experience to amplify these timely — and timeless_ themes.”

I know the haters heads are spinning once again. Some on the comments section of Yahoo buzz asked if she was ‘writing it in crayon’ and are calling her ‘retarded’.   Too bad those fools don’t have a book out that is making millions; so who’s really stupid?

Laura Ingraham’s Auction to Benefit Our Military

It’s a privilege to participate in the auction Laura Ingraham is organizing to help our men and women in uniform. Laura asked if I would donate the jacket I wore on the cover of my book, “Going Rogue.” I can’t think of a better cause, and it’s especially fitting because the book is dedicated to patriots and in particular to our women and men in uniform.

All the proceeds from the auction go to benefit the Wounded Warrior Project and The Fisher House (please click the links for more information about these wonderful organizations).

Our military and their families sacrifice so much to protect us. That sacrifice was so evident at our visit to the Walter Reed Hospital on Sunday. It was deeply moving and inspirational to hear our recovering troops’ stories and to see their patriotism reflected so vividly in their willingness to serve a cause greater than themselves.

I have been reading several articles about Sarah Palin’s book signing at Legacy Books in Plano, Texas which is a suburb just north of Dallas. This article titled Sarah Palin’s ‘Going Rogue’ Book Tour Rolls into Texas, Delighting Her Conservative Supporters states:

Plano was an obvious stop on Sarah Palin’s Going Rogue Book Tour because it is a Republican stronghold. According to USA Today, the majority of voters in this ritzy suburb north of Dallas voted for the conservative pairing of John McCain and Sarah Palin in the 2008 presidential election; the majority of voters in the city of Dallas itself voted for Barack Obama.

I feel the author of the article is being a bit catty in both her title and her mention of Plano being ritzy. I would like to point out though that this is another one of those, Can you see the light? moments. Plano for the most part is a very prosperous city (mostly Republican) and Dallas is filled with poverty and corruption (mostly Democrat). I wonder if there might be a connection there?

Though we only got seconds with Sarah Palin it was a great pleasure to shake hands with such a wonderful lady and the person we hope to be the next President of The United States.

I have never done anything like this before. I just couldn’t think of another politician (or celebrity) on this planet that I would have gone out of my way for. I admit I was giddy and nervous but a happy camper in the end. My friends, that I was there with, felt the same way.

Tomorrow is the big day here in Dallas! I feel like a kid at Christmas not being able to sleep. I’m heading out in the wee hours of the morning I wish I would have taken a nap today. I’m hoping I’ll have lots of pictures of the event tomorrow and if I’m lucky a few of Sarah as well.

Sales of her first book topped 1 million copies in its first two weeks on sale.

It took Barack Obama three weeks to sell 182,000 copies and his book had just as much hype. Consider this from a Nov. 9, 2006, New York Times story:

‘Thousands of Americans herald their ‘uber-patriot’ idol as Going Rogue launches to a soft country soundtrack’

As the first fans were ushered into meet her it was hard not to read significance into the triumphant-sounding country song playing out of the store’s sound system.

It was American Idol star Kellie Pickler’s Red High Heels and as the masses shuffled up the stairs to meet Palin the chorus rang out: “I’ll bet you want me back now don’t you, don’t you? I’m about to show you just how missin’ me feels. In my red high heels.”

Much of the American public has been missing her and Palin’s heels are definitely back in US political life. But exactly where they will take her few can predict.
